皆様Windows11というものについてどう思ってられるでしょうか？
僕も、OneDrive等のありがた迷惑な新機能、操作方法の変更（特に右クリックで出てくるメニューの意味不明な並べ替えが苦痛）、そして極めつけにこの間の大喪失の件があってから、脱Windowsの動きを加速させています。
というわけで僕もとりあえず、Linux系のOSを入れようと思っています。
ラズベリーパイというコンピュータでそれなりに使い慣れていますからね。
What do you all think about Windows 11?
I too have been accelerating my move away from Windows ever since I started to feel the pain of new features like OneDrive, the changes in operation (particularly the incomprehensible rearrangement of the menu that appears when you right-click), and, worst of all, the recent major loss.
So, for now, I'm thinking of installing a Linux-based OS.
This is because I am quite familiar with using a computer called Raspberry Pi.
しかし、今の所いまいちうまくいきません。
具体的に、Windows10サポート終了のタイミングで話題に上がっていたZorinOS最新版は半分くらいまでダウンロードした時点で失敗します。
仕方が無いので、ラズベリーパイのOSに使われているRaspbianのPC版を代わりにダウンロード成功したのですが、インストーラーは英語だし、なんかよく分からないエラーが連発するしで思うようにいきません。
そもそもこれらのＯＳは、データのイメージをDVDサイズのディスクに焼かないと使えないですから、その時点で確実に初心者に対する壁になってしまいます。
But so far it's not going very well.
Specifically, the latest version of ZorinOS, which was a hot topic around the time support for Windows 10 was ending, fails to download about halfway through.
Since I had no choice, I successfully downloaded the PC version of Raspbian, the operating system used on the Raspberry Pi, but the installer was in English and I kept getting some kind of incomprehensible error message, so it didn't go as I had hoped.
In the first place, these operating systems cannot be used unless the data image is burned onto a DVD-sized disc, so this point definitely poses a barrier for beginners.
だいたいからしてLinux系のOSというのは新規参入者に対して不親切だったというイメージを僕は持っており、その辺がまだ変われていないのかなという印象を受けます。
I have the impression that Linux-based operating systems have generally been unfriendly to newcomers, and I get the impression that this has not changed yet.
例えば見てほしいんですけど、２０年ほど前にLindowsOSっていうOSを買った事があるんですよ。

今でこそWindowsっぽい見た目のLinuxって結構見かけますけど、それの先駆けみたいな感じで話題になっていたOSです。

インストールまでは比較的分かりやすかったのですが、一つ致命的な欠陥がありました。

ＡＴＯＫが入っているにも拘らず、日本語入力の起動方法が分かりませんでした。
Even though ATOK was installed, I couldn't figure out how to start Japanese input.
説明書を探しても全然見つからず、しばらく遊んだ後「WindowsXPで十分だな」と判断したのです。
果たして、他の人は似たような苦労をしたりはしないのでしょうかね？
I searched for the manual but couldn't find anything, and after playing with it for a while I decided that Windows XP would be good enough.
Surely other people are not going through similar difficulties?
その後このLindowsOSはMicrosoftからの圧力でLinspireに名前を変え、カナダの会社に吸収され…
ともかくLindowsOSはコンピュータの歴史に名は残したものの、現時点では「世界を変えた」とまで思っている人はいないでしょう。

そのへんの、新規参入者への配慮という点でWindowsは優れていたけれど、皮肉にもその過剰な配慮が今度は不満の原因になっているのかなという気もして見ております。
そしてLinux系のOSについてはせめてこう、もう少し新規参入者に対して親切であれば良かったのに…と思っており、Linux系の良い所も見ている僕としては残念でなりません。
そしてWindowsとLinuxについて現在どちらにも言える問題は「もっとユーザーの目線に立ちましょう」という事であり、これが今後の勝利のカギを握るのではと僕は考えております。
Windows was excellent in this respect in terms of consideration for new entrants, but ironically, I feel that this excessive consideration is now the cause of dissatisfaction.
And as for Linux-based operating systems, I think they should have at least been a little more friendly to newcomers, and as someone who has seen the good points of Linux, I find this very disappointing.
The current problem facing both Windows and Linux is that they need to "see things more from the user's perspective," and I believe this will be the key to their future success.
…えー、そんな愚痴を日記に書いてしまうくらい全然うまくいきませんけど、もうちょっと頑張ってみますかね…

あっそうだ、もうひとつこのLindowsOSには厄介な問題がありました。
このLindowsOSをインストールしたハードディスクに対して、後で別のOSをフォーマットして入れても起動しなくなります（黒い画面に「LI」とだけ表示されてフリーズする）。
どうも起動に必要な領域の消さなきゃいけないデータが消えないのが原因らしいので、もしどこかからこれを入手して試してみたいと思っている人はご注意を。
あの時は、シマンテック社のセキュリティソフトのCDに入っていた「ghost.exe」をMS-DOSのコマンドラインで操作して、何とか問題を解決した記憶があります。
Oh, and there was another annoying problem with LindowsOS.
Even if you later format and install another OS on a hard disk on which this LindowsOS is installed, it will not boot (it will freeze and only show "LI" on a black screen).
It seems that the problem is that data that needs to be deleted from the area required for startup is not deleted, so please be careful if you get this from somewhere and are thinking of trying it out.
I remember that at the time, I managed to solve the problem by using the "ghost.exe" program that was included on the Symantec security software CD using the MS-DOS command line.

上記のものを１１月中に公開できるようにして、さらに１２月下旬には「ハッピーバースデーゆかりん」の更新をかけるつもりであり、既に立華楓様から絵も届いてきております。
I plan to make the above available to the public in November, and then update "Happy Birthday Yukari" in late December, and I have already received the illustrations from Tachibana Kaede.
…こう、彼とは直接会わないまでも、ビジネスで年単位で付き合いがありますから思う事なのですが…なんか絵柄がちょっと変化した気がするのは気のせいでしょうかね…？
メールの文面もなんかちょっと違和感がありましたし、なんだか少し心配です。
とはいえじっと近くで見ると間違いなく彼の絵柄ですし、メールの文面も確かに彼です。
