Hello, how are you all doing?
It's getting cold.(in Japan) Lately, when I have the slightest symptom of a cold, I've been thinking, "What if this symptom is...!!" And I got scared and took the medicine right away to rest. (I'm a chicken.)
This is a report on the recent work.
On Sale.
Currently, the previous work "Harem Trigger!!" is on discount sale! DLsite sales page
I hope you'll take the opportunity to try out my game!
What game am I making?
→I'm making a 3D FPS game set in Edo (Old Japan).
→It's a naughty game for masochistic men.
→It is expected to be completed between 2020 and 2021 (it is still expected to take a long time).
I plan to update the blog once a month at the beginning of each month.
→I'll try to update twice a month for a while, early and middle of the month
What I did recently.
Game Title.
I had to decide on a game title, and I've been considering it.
I've been thinking about using "Ooedo Trigger!!" as the title for quite some time now.
I thought it would be good because the "Trigger" part of the game conveys that it's probably a game that shoots like a sequel to "Harem Trigger!".
However, I thought the "Oedo" part was a bit weak, because when users look at the game in the store, they see screenshots and video clips of the game set in Japan, so I didn't think "Edo" was necessary.
Also, I wonder if people abroad will know what "Edo" is when they see it? That's another point I'm struggling with. I'd love to hear the opinions of people outside of Japan." When you hear the words "Edo" and "Ooedo," what do you think of?
Aloso, It would be nice if users could tell that the game is for Femdom just by looking at the title.
(´・ω・`)
It might be a good idea to sub-title it (I think there was a character limit on the title, so it seems like a bad idea...lol) "OOEDO TRIGGER! ~About the case of a femdom-like me reincarnating in Edo and having a harem shootout with lascivious kimono girls!! ~"
I need to consider this a bit more.
Screen System.
I was considering how to make a screen for Title Screen, Stage Selection, Weapon Selection
I thought it would be interesting to see each screen as the camera moves, so I made a prototype.
But with this method, the stage selection screen is quite small... and I think it's a bit difficult to use. Also, I've found that this method can't handle multiple screen aspect ratios well.
It would be kinder to give it a full screen view like the previous one. I think I need to think about it a bit more.
(Maybe I'll make it switch to full screen when the player gets to the stage selection.)
Edo cityscape
It's also reflected in the background of the title screen. I am making a model of the streets.
I am using paid materials for this one.
I'd like to remodel it to make it look like a Yukaku(japanese brothel town), but it looks like a lot of work...
(´・ω・`)g I'll do my best.
Details around the system.
Font System.
There are several ways to display text in Unity (game engine).
In the last game, I used the standard Unity character system. It's easy and convenient to use, but there were problems with jaggies when zooming in on the text, and depending on how it was used, it was slow.
Also, because the font files had to be imported directly into the game, it wasn't possible to use some of the fonts depending on the license of the font being used.
Therefore, I considered several font systems and selected the font system to be used.
↑Zoom in like this and it will look smooth. (The font system in Unity is on the right.)
Also, the characters I use are imported as image files, so I do not have to import the fonts directly into the game.
Font.
I found a good font to use, written with a brush.
However, this font can handle simple Japanese kanji and alphabets, but it doesn't include less frequently used Japanese characters, Chinese characters, or characters from other languages, so I'd like to use multiple fonts in combination.
Aside.
I bought a brush pen to make the icons on the screen.
The brush pen (筆ペン Hude pen) is filled with ink in the top tank, so the brush is automatically inked.
I'm not very good at writing characters, so this is useful for making icons.
It was easy to make an icon with a brush texture like this.
( ´ ▽ ` )ノ
In Japanese schools, there was a class for writing with a brush.
What is it for? I thought.
But I never thought I'd see the day when I'd really use a brush... lol
(I made an icon this time, but I don't think I'll be able to handle it well if I use a brush for the first time...)
