師匠と裸エプロン Master and the naked apron

「正太郎！大変だ！正太郎！」
師匠はドタバタと部屋に入ってくるなり大声で僕を呼ぶ。僕は体調が悪くて寝込んでいるのに…
「なんですか？僕は今日も何もしませんよ？」
布団を被ったまま僕は頭も出さずにぶっきらぼうに返事をした。
「大変なのだ正太郎！私の財布が見当たらないのだ！確かに引き出しにしまったはずなのに！このままではもうすぐ届く荷物の代金が払えぬのだ！」
代引きなんかにするからですよ。
武術以外はつくづく要領の悪い師匠に僕は呆れた。
「財布はどうせ師匠の寝室の枕元とかにありますよ。いつもだいたいその辺に落ちてるじゃないですか。」
「そ、そんなはずはないのだ！私は確かに引き出しに…」
「いいから一回枕元を探してみてくださいよ。探しても見つからなかったらまた来てください。」
僕に邪険にされて師匠は仕方なく階段を降りていった。
その時玄関のインターホンが鳴り、師匠の慌てる様子が伝わってくる。
「すいません…、お待たせしちゃって。いくらでしたか？」
宅配のお兄さんと師匠がやりとりする声が聞こえてきて、無事に師匠が財布を見つけられたみたいで僕は一安心した。
「い、いえ！いいんです！待ちますとも！いくらでも！」
宅配のお兄さんの変なテンションの返答が聞こえてきて僕は嫌な予感がして下へ降りた。そして僕は仰天する。
師匠が伝票にサインをして返すと、配達のお兄さんは顔を真っ赤にしながらお辞儀をしていた。
「あ、ありがとうございましたー！またのご利用をお願いしまぁす！」
彼は何度も振り返りながら名残惜しそうに去っていった。
「なんですかその裸エプロンは！ありえないでしょその格好で宅配を受け取るとか！」
僕に怒鳴られて師匠は思わず首をすくめた。
「洗濯機が壊れたから着るものがなくなったのだ。まさか裸で人前に出るわけにはいくまい。だから台所にあったこれを…」
「逆に裸よりエロくなってるんですよ！僕のジャージを借りるとか他にもやりようはあったでしょう！？」
「お前は寝込んでいたから起こすのは悪いと思ったのだ！師匠の気遣いを何だと思っているのだ！」
「結局さっき起こしたじゃないですか！」
僕と師匠の罵り合いはしばらく続いた。
"Shotaro! Oh, my God! Shotaro!"
Master came slamming into the room and called out for me in a loud voice. I've been sick in bed, you know?
"What's the commotion? I'm not going to do anything today..."
I replied bluntly, without even sticking my head out, still covered by the futon.
"I'm in trouble, Shotaro! I can't find my wallet! I'm sure I put it in a drawer! I'm afraid I can't pay for the package that will arrive soon!"
It's because you took cash on delivery...
I was amazed at Master's ineptitude in everything but martial arts.
"Your wallet is probably under your pillow in your bedroom anyway. You can always find it around there."
"No, it can't be! I'm sure it's in a drawer..."
"Just try looking under your pillow. If you can't find it, come back."
The master, having been properly dismissed by me, had no choice but to go down the stairs.
Just then, the intercom rang and I could hear Master's panic.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. How much was it?"
I was relieved when I heard the voice of the delivery man and Master exchanging words.
"Oh It's okay! I'll wait for you! As much as you want!"
I had a bad feeling and went downstairs when I heard the delivery man's strangely excited reply. And I'm stunned.
When Master signed the slip of paper and returned it, the delivery man bowed, his face turning red.
"Oh, thank you very much! I look forward to serving you again!"
He turned around several times and left regretfully.
"What's with your naked apron? You're not supposed to receive deliveries in that outfit!"
I shouted at her and she shrugged her shoulders.
"The washing machine is broken, so I have nothing to wear. I can't go out in public naked. So I found this in the kitchen..."
"On the contrary, it's more erotic than naked! You could have borrowed my jersey or done something else!"
"You were asleep and I felt bad waking you up! I was worried about you!
"You did wake me up earlier after all!"
The exchange of curses between Master and I continued for a while.
